In most EHRs, this tab or module is specifically designed to list all referrals, show their status, and connect them to the order and notes. So, to view a rehab referral, you would open the patient’s chart and navigate to Referrals first.

Progress notes are where encounter documentation lives, imaging contains imaging studies, and the overall patient chart houses many different sections. Referrals is the right place because it’s the focused area for referral orders and related details.
